Photography is a unique opportunity to let a photo speak a thousand words. The constant demand of keeping an updated website, blog, and social media presence has shown most of us how difficult it can be to ACTUALLY come up with a thousand words explaining our
passion to the right people. And these days, even the world’s greatest wordsmith still needs a scroll-stopping image to share before they click “post”.
That’s where brand photography comes in. Imagine having access to an entire gallery of images showing you and your business doing it’s thing. No matter what industry you work in - visual content is key to communicating effectively to your target audience, and showing them you’re worth the investment (or at least the email/drive/phone call). A well-placed brand image shows that you’re professional - but also offers the chance to show off your unique personality, while increasing your brand’s awareness.
If you ask me, that’s the kinda magic that can help you stay booked and busy.
I was referred to Megan through our shared brand designer, Madeline from East and Eve Creative Co. We both know (and love) the importance of holistic branding. Megan is sunshine in human form and is a real estate agent for the Albert County region who’s also a yoga instructor – her Move with Meg NB […]
As some of you know (but many probably don’t) – I started my photography journey because of my food blog. I knew I had to have competitive and beautiful images to rank on Google. My first love is and will always be food and restaurant photography, and I was thrilled when Chanelle from Farm to […]
I get a lot of inquiries for branding photography and I often hear business owners ask if they really need a full branding session or if they just need headshots. Without knowing the intention of your investment, there isn’t a clear cookie-cutter answer. So what is the difference between a headshot session and a branding […]
Brand photography is not just a passion of mine. It’s something I have spent my entire career working towards. I have over a combined decade of sales, marketing, advertising, SEO and brand development experience - and my expertise has fundamentally changed how I approach brand photos.
When it comes to brand photography, a purposeful, sales-driven approach with a storytelling perspective is absolutely necessary. Good brand images help you tell your story, but great brand images empower you to tell your brand story to the right people and in a way that makes them care.
I take a unique and holistic approach to my brand work, studying your market, analyzing your asset gaps, and learning about the deeper "whys" to your
business. This ensures we can visually represent the love and passion you've poured into what you do.
From intake all the way to delivery, my process takes out all the guess work of building a useful and purposeful image bank for your brand. This allows me to take the images you'll actually use over and over - and find out the ones you don't currently have.
inquire & intake
Before we get into the photography, there is a ground work that needs to be done. After I receive a brand photography inquiry, we’ll schedule a call together. It’s important that I understand your brand’s values, your unique offerings, who you are trying to reach, and ultimately - the business story you are trying to communicate.
After the initial consultation, I dive into the research phase. With half a decade of commercial photography experience guiding me, I'll look at the state of your current online presence, scope out the competition, and uncover how we can make your brand’s images stand out from the rest while drawing your ideal client in.
I build out a custom shot list for each brand shoot with a mood board, style guide and suggested props. If you don't have a location, at this point we will find somewhere that matches your brand visual identity.
Inquire & Intake
shoot day
Armed with camera equipment, a detailed game plan and lots of caffeine, it's time to jump head first into your shoot day! I come prepared with all the gear, lighting, storyboarding and posing help our ideas might require during your session. There’s only one task on your to-do list. Show up open to the process!
Focusing on a mixture of traditional headshots, lifestyle images and specially crafted detail shots, we'll capture all the most important visual aspects of your brand. I shoot in a variety of orientations; up close, far away and everything in between. It's important to ensure you have all the photo assets you need to build your advertorial and social content for months/years to come.
Shoot Day
implementation
A few weeks after your shoot, you’ll have a whole gallery of on-brand images and assets. Then what? Having the right tools for the job doesn't mean much if you don't know how to use them. Based on my preliminary research, I'll put together a brief plan on how and where to use your new photos.
Your gallery will come loaded with close-up detail shots, whole-scene storytelling images, pictures with lots of negative space for ad copy and everything in between. Taking time at the beginning of the process ensures that you won't be building your website in a few weeks and realize we forgot a crucial shot. You're fully covered.

Lauren did a photoshoot for my food brand and took headshots for me. I was pretty nervous about both as the lighting in our kitchen is not ideal, and I usually feel awkward or uncomfortable in front of the camera. But she absolutely nailed it! She was super creative on the spot and arranged a branded scene out of what felt like nothing! I’m so blown away by how nice the portraits came out, she was very friendly and sweet, and helped me pose in a way that looked great on camera - even though it felt unnatural at the time! The final photos were delivered quickly, and in the end, I felt like I made a new friend. Awesome experience, thanks Lauren!
Alex, Cool Cat Pizza
Jessica Morehouse, Realtor
Lauren is an amazing human. She was collaborating at one of my friend’s Airbnb’s for a photoshoot with an amazing makeup artist, Abigail, for business branding pics. She is delightful, professional, and efficient in getting my pictures back on time. I appreciated her suggestions during the shoot, and how she took the time to understand what I was looking for!
Susan, restaurant owner
Lauren did exceptional food photography for our fine dining restaurant Clos in Moncton. She was very in tune with our needs and has quick turn around with the photos. An absolute pleasure to work with.

I’ve worked with a wide variety of industries. From tourism, to fine-dining, to yoga studios, to small, independent artists, to folks working in healthcare, and so many more. I love the challenge of working with a new industry or business sector. It’s the perfect opportunity to flex my

They sure will be! While in the planning stages of your branding photography service, we’ll go over what you hope to do with your images - and where you believe they’ll make the most impact. My galleries always come with print releases, but the licensing for advertising is a little different than the typical photo shoot! We’ll go over what you plan to do with your images, and ensure that our contract covers you for the uses you expect to need.

It depends on your business and your industry. If you’ve recently gone through a rebrand, a big staff change, a renovation, or launched a new product - you’ll want to have brand photos to reflect it! It also depends on your ability or interest in doing your own photography - and the demand your business has for photos. Some businesses like to do a branding session every quarter - and some folks can get away with a branding session every 3-5 years!

HOW OFTEN DO YOU RECOMMEND GETTING BRAND PHOTOS DONE?
No, but it REALLY helps. Just like any other big marketing investment - branding photography involves strategy. To get the best ROI (return on investment) we’ll want to ensure that our decisions are backed by juicy knowledge into your target audience, your brand’s values, unique messaging, and overall positioning.
I had my branding done by Madeline at East and Eve Creative Co. and I recommend her to anyone looking to have their brand speak for them.

We sure can! Depending on what your brand shoot goals are, we can do your branding photos outside, at a local cafe, in a vibey public space, or even rent an Airbnb that matches your brand colours and aesthetic.
I have a list of AirBnB's across Atlantic Canada that I can recommend for any aesthetic (and they all have amazing natural light!)
